Alles Sein befindet sich in der Entwicklung aus dem, oder zurück ins, Nichts. Einen abgeschlossenen Zustand des Seins gibt es nicht, sondern vielmehr einen konstanten Kreislauf aus Werden und Vergehen. Sein und Nichts sind durch ihre Wechselbeziehung einer ganzheitlichen Ordnung eng miteinander verbunden. Das Nichts hält in sich das Potential des Werdens und ist so der Ursprung des Seins. Wenn etwas beginnt zu existieren, trägt es sein eigenes unausweichliches Nichtsein in sich. Das Vergehen hinterlässt an Stelle des Seins eine Leere, die sich alsbald wieder mit einem neuen Sein füllen kann. So sind Sein und Nichts komplementäre Polaritäten des Wandels.
Diese neun Broschen sind aus Silber, in der Form eines Torus, gefertigt. Sie tragen in ihrer Mitte und in sich eine Leere. Das weiße, gefeilte Silber verkörpert, wie ein noch unbeschriebenes Blatt, das Nichts. Es ist überzogen mit einer feinen Schicht Lack, welcher die Grenze zu diesem Nichts darstellt. Der mit einer eigens entwickelten Technik aufgetragene Pulverlack ist teilweise transparent, befleckt von tiefem Schwarz. Das Schwarz als dichteste Farbmasse stellt die Spuren des Seins dar. Durch den transparenten Lack erfährt der Betrachter eine Tiefe, in der er die feine Faktur des Silbers wahrnimmt. Auch die Broschiernadel bildet einen Kreis und ermöglicht es die Brosche wie schwerelos zu tragen. Die Broschen verkörpern eine ganzheitliche, verbundene, kosmische Ordnung und das unendliche Potential des Nichts.

All is either developing from, or evolving into nothingness. A flowing, eternal cycle of becoming and fading that has no ultimate finished state. Being and nothingness are merged by their interrelation in a holistic order. Nothingness holds within itself the potential for something to emerge, it is the origin of being. When something begins to exist, it already entails its own non-existence. Fading leaves an emptiness in place of the former being that strives to be filled again by a new being. Being and nothingness are complementary poles of change.
These nine brooches are made of silver in she form of a torus. In their core and center, there is an emptiness. The white, filed silver embodies nothingness, just like a blank piece of canvas would. The silver is coated with a fine layer of lacquer that constitutes the border to this nothingness. The lacquer is applied with an especially developed technique and is composed of a transparent and a deep black component. Black as the densest mass of color represents the traces of being. By the transparency of the lacquer, the observer experiences a depth that holds the fine, bright silver surface. The needle invokes the circles of which the torus is constructed and enables the brooches to be worn as if they are weightless. The brooches embody a holistic, interconnected, cosmic order and the infinite potential of nothingness.
